Introducing Me

Hey! It’s La’Reenah. Daughter of the King and writer of words (poetry specifically). In 2021, I had this spontaneous idea to start a blog. I had no writing experience and wasn’t into poetry at the time. I had given my life to Christ before this spontaneous thought, so faith was very new to me. I had no idea what this blog would be about. God gave me an idea without further instructions: “Start a blog.” As time went on, God confirmed my path towards writing, and here I am today. I naturally gravitated towards poetry, and now I seek to serve God through the art of words. As a poet, I tend to avoid “flowery” metaphors and prefer to get straight to the heart of what I want to say. I strive to be sincere and write to witness. Poetry is my ministry and way of interacting with the world. It is the tool I use to explore faith and human emotion and to critique the injustices in today’s society.

What To Expect

Real stories and honest observations. I only write what I believe. I don’t perform; I prefer to walk the path of sincerity—no poetic “fluff” or “flowery” language. I prioritize directness over decoration, and I write not to impress, but to witness.

Outside of Writing

When I am not writing, I am either spending time with my family or listening to my favorite songs and artists. I enjoy building Lego sets, collecting Pokémon cards, and traveling. I am deeply grounded in my faith and take my walk with Christ seriously. I strive to be more like him with each passing day. I am an avid reader and a huge fan of Marvel superheroes & Nintendo. I’m highly introverted, but I don’t mind company from time to time.

Publications

Writing would not be possible without God. I would not be where I am today without him. I have been blessed with the opportunity to have six poems featured in my school’s Literary Magazines. Being able to accomplish this in such a short amount of time within my writing journey is the ultimate “Nothing But God” moment.

Lord Jesus, I pray I will walk in humility regardless of what opportunities may come my way. May everything I do be for the glory of your Kingdom, and may I follow the apostle Paul’s advice and “Boast in the Lord.” Thank You for the dreams you have placed in my heart, and thank you for giving me a hope and a future. I praise and thank you in advance for all the blessings yet to come. In your name I pray. Amen.
